Visit Copan

Copan is a renowned ancient Maya site in western Honduras, Central America.  Copan is the real "Bat City", since 427 A.D. It is protected within a national park, 600 meters above sea level, along the Copan River, in the narrow, pine-forested Copan Valley.



Copan lies within a national park 483 km from Tegucigalpa, the capital of Honduras, and 184 km from Honduras’ industrial city, San Pedro Sula. Copan is 2.5 hours on a paved highway from the international airport of San Pedro Sula and six hours from Tegucigalpa’s airport.
